August 10th saw the first collaboration between PTDI and Concept Sports, organisers of the Swanage Triathlon 2008. Over 350 competitors took part in the Sprint and Olympic distance events which include a 1500 metre open water swim, hilly 40k ride and very steep 10k run. All competitors were given a free co-branded
Pledgetag which was worn throughout race day, this helped identify racers which helped secure the transition areas and provided racers with a unique memento of the day. Swanage is renowned as a tough race and all the competitors deserved the sunny weather that greeted them on the Sunday especially after the torrential wind and rain on registration day.
PTDI Director Steve Thompson said “it’s an all round win-win scenario and we’re delighted to be involved with racers on a direct level, many of the racers have mentioned their delight in getting a unique Swanage Triathlon 2008 Pledgetag and we’ll be doing it again very soon”.
